Lady Gaga’s Oscars Necklace Looks Suspiciously Like the ‘How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days’ Diamond

Last night, Lady Gaga stunned at the Oscars in a diamond necklace that may have looked a little… familiar. When the Best Actress nominee stepped on the red carpet, she turned heads in a massive yellow diamond that was giving off serious How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days vibes. According to Vox, the Lady Gaga Tiffany necklace isn’t the “Isadora” necklace Kate Hudson wore in the 2003 rom-com, but it is the same necklace Audrey Hepburn wore in an iconic photo shoot for Breakfast at Tiffany’s. As if you needed even more proof that Gaga has great taste.

Lady Gaga’s Oscars dress — a black strapless gown from Alexander McQueen — was brought to life by a massive yellow stone known as The Tiffany Diamond. First discovered in 1877, the 287.42-carat stone is worth over $25 million, and when coupled with the smaller stones on Lady Gaga’s diamond necklace, its value rises to upwards of $30 million.

When fans at home first saw Lady Gaga at the Oscars 2019, they immediately made the connection to Hudson’s look in How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days.

Alas, Gaga didn’t steal the Isadora diamond. According to Tiffany, the piece is actually an Audrey Hepburn necklace: before Lady Gaga, the Breakfast at Tiffany‘s star was the last person to wear the diamond (she rocked it during a 1961 promotional shoot for the film). At the time, Hepburn wore the stone as part of a necklace of diamond ribbons, but the style has since changed. It was placed in a more modern setting — the one we saw on Lady Gaga last night — in 2012.

Tiffany Diamond or not, Lady Gaga had a pretty good night at the Oscars. She took home an award for Best Original Song, and more importantly, she and Bradley Cooper practically won Best Picture with their emotional rendition of “Shallow.” The only thing that could’ve made it better? A post-performance make-out. Sorry, Irina Shayk, these co-stars just have too much chemistry to ignore.
