Woman Crush Wednesday: ‘The Kissing Booth’ Star Joey King’s Reign is Upon Us

It’s time for your favorite day of the week, friends. Not only is the week halfway over (#blessed) but it’s also Woman Crush Wednesday once again. This week, we’re crushing on a gal who’s practically Gen Z royalty. Really though. It’s in her name! Let’s hear it for our woman of the week, Joey King.

WHO’S THAT GAL: Joey King

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: There’s so much about King we just can’t get enough of. First of all, after working for almost her entire 19 years on this Earth, her resume is pretty bangin’. Scroll through her IMDB page and you’ll find her in everything from Disney Channel original series, music videos, and even the occasional horror flick. This girl does it all, and we’re totally digging it.

Our WCW was the most recent cover girl of Teen Vogue, and in an interview with the magazine, King admits that one of her biggest challenges has been proving that she really has what it takes to be a distinguished actress. King not only loves the work she does but strives to perform every single role to the best of her ability, to show her work ethic and range. And boy, does she got the range!

Before turning 20, King has already proven to the world that she cannot and will not be placed inside a box. Whether it be a cute romantic comedy or a newly established crime drama, King has made it her goal to play the roles in the most authentic ways possible. I mean, how can you not love this gal?

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Most recently, our WCW starred in Netflix’s adorably sweet rom-com The Kissing Booth. King played Elle Evans, a high schooler who finds herself face to face with her longtime crush when she signs up to run a kissing booth at her school’s carnival. King also starred as Ramona Quimby alongside on-screen big sis Selena Gomez in Ramona and Beezus

You can also catch this star the TV adaptation of Fargo, Crazy Stupid Love, Slender Man, and The Conjuring.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: King is coming to your computer screen very soon. The first episode of The Act premieres March 20 on Hulu (yes, it’s the project she boldly shaved her head for). King also has a few more projects in the works that will hopefully be coming out within the next year. She’s starring in Zeroville, a new movie directed by James Franco. King’s also been hard at work on the new supernatural romance flick The In Between, about a girl who believes her late boyfriend is attempting to connect with her from the afterlife. She is also set to star in a film called Camp, and of course, our girl is reprising her iconic role as Elle in The Kissing Booth 2.
