‘Forever My Girl’ Features The Softest T-Shirts You’ll Ever See In A Film

If you’re a sucker for a romance movie (oh please, we all know you are), you’ve got to watch Forever My Girl. Currently available on both Hulu and Prime Video, there is perhaps no better film to stay inside and watch on a day when it’s cold and lame outside.

While the movie has rightfully gotten a lot of comparisons to a Nicholas Sparks film, this one was written and directed by Bethany Ashton Wolf and, ahem, hits all the right notes. That’s a silly pun because the movie’s about Liam Page (Alex Roe), a guy that left his hometown sweetheart Josie (Jessica Rothe) behind on their wedding day (rude) and went off to become one of the biggest country stars in the nation. Only while he was playing sold-out arenas, Josie was back home raising their daughter. Surprise! So when he returns home, Liam sets out to connect with the daughter he didn’t know he had, and reconnect with the woman he never forgot. Oh my god, don’t you love it already?

And while Forever My Girl plays by the rules of all romance movies, just the way we like it, there was one surprising element I couldn’t get enough of. Liam is outfitted in only the softest looking t-shirts I’ve ever seen in a film. For real. Perhaps this wardrobe was designed to get across the message that this is an easy-going, relaxed guy. But it also tells us these aren’t just Target t-shirts, these are probably those super expensive, like, $125 dollar shirts that look vintage but only rich people would dare to buy.

And Liam’s got a comfy tee for every occasion: when he’s rolling out of bed, when he’s making phone calls, when he’s drinking too much (yikes). And then there’s the one that he sweats through on stage, the one he sweats through when his only mode of transportation around town is his old bike, the one he sweats through while gardening.

Not all of them are drenched though. He also has soft t-shirts for when he’s picking up his daughter Billy (Abby Ryder Fortson) at school and teaching her how to play the guitar. We know this man owns at least one button-down shirt, but the rest appear to be these super soft ones I couldn’t stop staring at.

Let’s also give credit where it’s due to these shirts, which managed to increase the desirability of the person wearing them while they were still ON his body. While we are #blessed with brief shots of Roe shirtless, if you wanted to scream at your screen, “Put it on!” that would make sense too. He looks GREAT in these shirts. They drape in all the right ways, and who doesn’t instantly want to hug someone wearing a shirt that looks that damn soft? Shoutout to the wardrobe department, Alex Roe’s body, and the cotton industry for their joint effort in providing another unexpected yet delightful reason to watch Forever My Girl.
