When Will ‘Queer Eye’ Season 4 Come Out?

UPDATE 6/18/19: Netflix has announced that Queer Eye is returning for Season 4 on July 19, and also renewed the show for Season 5.

There’s absolutely no shame in admitting it: you’ve already watched all eight new episodes of Queer Eye Season 3. What once would have taken two months to watch via a weekly release schedule you plowed through in two days or less–and I can’t blame you! Queer Eye is the most addictive show on Netflix, the ultimate comfort food that’s miraculously also good for your soul. But now that you’ve met Bruley, ordered a bottle of Jones Bar-B-Q sauce, and watched Antoni pound meat, you’re no doubt left with one question: when will you get more makeover miracles to binge?!

When does Queer Eye Season 4 come out?

First of all, Netflix has not officially confirmed that there will be a Season 4–but come on, we know it’s coming. In fact, it is incredibly likely that it’s already been shot. Seasons 1 and 2, both of which were set in Georgia, were shot back-to-back. There’s really no reason to think they didn’t do the same thing in Kansas City. After all, this time around Netflix knew that Queer Eye was a true phenomenon. If you stalk Jonathan Van Ness on Instagram, then you can see that they started production in Kansas City around July 17 and wrapped on November 17. It probably doesn’t take four months to shoot just eight episodes!

If that’s the case and there are already eight other Kansas City area residents eagerly awaiting the release of their unseen glow-ups, then we should expect Season 4 in just a few months. Only 128 days passed between the release of Seasons 1 and 2 in 2018. If Netflix follows that pattern, and if Season 4 has already been filmed, then we should see Season 4 hit Netflix around July 19, 2019.

Tell me all about Queer Eye: We’re In Japan!

If you search for Queer Eye on Netflix, this a curious little placeholder card for Queer Eye: We’re In Japan! comes up too. Look at social media posts and you can tell that the Fab Five spent a good chunk of January and/or February in Japan filming a new mini-series. The special will consist of four episodes and feature the Fab Five taking in Japanese culture while meeting some Japanese heroes. Unlike the mini episode shot in Australia last year, it looks like We’re In Japan! will actually be released on Netflix proper.

How do you nominate a friend for Queer Eye Season 4?

Well, to get technical, you may not be able to nominate someone for Season 4 because it’s likely that Season 4 has already been shot. You may be able to nominate someone for Season 5, but you’ll have to wait for Netflix to announce Season 4 and Season 5 first. Then you’ll have to find out where and when Queer Eye plans to film. Seasons 1-2 shot in Georgia, Season 3 (and likely Season 4) hit the Kansas City area, so Season 5 (and presumably 6?) will most likely travel somewhere completely different.

When Netflix does announce that they’re filming a new season, you might be able to follow the same steps outlined when they cast for the Kansas City stint. So far Queer Eye has always shot in late summer, so you have a few months to get prepared and cross your fingers that the Fab Five are coming to your state.

Decider will update this article as more information on Queer Eye Season 4, Queer Eye: We’re In Japan!, and casting the next Queer Eye season becomes available.
