Woman Crush Wednesday: Kelli Berglund is the Queen of Confidence in ‘Now Apocalypse’

Decider is at it again with another well-deserved Woman Crush Wednesday. Let’s hear it loud and proud for this week’s empowering woman, Kelli Berglund.

WHO’S THAT GAL: Kelli Berglund

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Let me just start by saying that this gal is a total force of nature. I mean, this girl is wicked!

Berglund’s most popular roles have been on the Disney Channel, but boy, the Mickey Mouse shaped tables have turned. Our lovely lady plays Carly, the coolest girl you’ve ever seen in Now Apocalypse. And trust me when I say she’s the coolest. Carly is always decked out in the brightest and most colorful ensemble and rocks it! I mean, who else can pull off neon animal print? And not only does Berglund serve us some fun ~lewks~ but she also gives us a new leading lady to root for. Carly is the most loyal and honest bestie any person could ask for. And more women supporting women is what we need on TV.

There’s no doubt that Now Apocalypse is the complete opposite of what Disney is known for (AKA there’s a whole lotta sex in this show). But Berglund approaches this show with an “I got this” attitude and shows us what a confident young woman looks like in 2019. It takes a lot to put your whole naked self on full display, but Berglund totally owns it and inspires us all to be a little more body confident.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Berglund’s best-known for her work on Disney Channel where she played Bree in Disney Channel’s Lab Rats series and spinoff, as well as Mae Hartley in How to Build a Better Boy. Since her exit from Disney Channel, Berglund has appeared in episodes of The Night Shift and stars in the TNT series Animal Kingdom. And of course, she also plays Carly in the Starz series Now Apocalypse.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: If you haven’t hopped on the Now Apocalypse train yet, don’t fret. Catch Berglund in new episodes on Sundays at 9pm on Starz. Starting in April, she will also be making an appearance as a young Gwen Verdon in FX’s new series Fosse/Verdon. But if you’re more of a movie maniac, Berglund also stars in the upcoming Ghost in the Graveyard.
