How To Watch HBO's 'House of the Dragon' Season 2 For Free
As we approach the premiere of the eighth and final season of Game of Thrones, folks around the world are clamoring on social media in anticipation of its arrival. The epic HBO fantasy series held a highly publicized red carpet premiere of the first episode a few days ago at Radio City Music Hall and the show’s renowned cast has been making their rounds on late night television in order to promote a series that doesn’t need promoting.
While we wait another week for the public premiere, the team over at daringplanet.com decided to utilize Twitter data in order to create the below map which quantifies each character’s popularity by State. Using geotagged data from more than 200,000 tweets over the last month, analysts tracked how many times each Game of Thrones character was mentioned across all 50 states.

You may find some of the results intriguing, as did we. For example, Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) seems quite popular across the country – winning 19 states in total – while Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) seems to be the most popular in just 4 states. Also, a few fan favorites such as Jaime Lannister, Bran Stark, Brienne of Tarth and The Hound didn’t end up winning any states. According to the study, some characters also didn’t even garner enough tweets to be considered in any state.
While this was a fun study for daringplanet.com to conduct, the results are truly subjective and by no means are they a true measure of GoT fandom. Do you agree with your State’s winner?
In case you forgot, the final season of Game of Thrones will premiere next Sunday, April 14th at 9PM only on HBO. It will be available to stream live on HBO Now and for next-day streaming on HBO Go.
