Woman Crush Wednesday: Brittany Snow Exceeds All Expectations in ‘Someone Great’

Let’s raise the digital roof for this week’s lovely lady of honor! For this Woman Crush Wednesday, team Decider is honoring the always amazing Brittany Snow.

WHO’S THAT GAL: Brittany Snow

WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Get ready to see this perfect human shine like the star we know she is! In Someone Great (which premieres on Netflix this Friday!!!) Snow plays loyal bestie Blair to Gina Rodriguez’s Jenny and DeWanda Wise’s Erin. Now, while you’re probably thinking about how once you’ve seen one gal pal rom-com you’ve seen them all, we’re here to tell you that’s just not true!

Someone Great focuses mainly on Jenny and her relationship, but Blair and Erin have their own life-changing experiences as well. Blair starts off as a pretty basic girl who follows the rules and lives life by the book. She’s got her dream job, a boyfriend who cleans her apartment, and two amazing besties. Life is good, right? Well, throughout the course of the movie Blair makes some discoveries about herself and her relationship that ultimately set her free.

With Rodriguez and Wise by her side, Snow is bold, fearless, and TBH a pretty damn good time. We already know she’s great just from seeing her in past roles, but she steps it up even more in Someone Great. She not only plays the girl some of us know all too well, but she turns into the unapologetic queen we wish we could be. Snow’s performance in Someone Great, proves that once she’s given a character with depth and real-world feelings, she totally soars high above everyone’s expectations. What seems like a generic girl group adventure movie turns into an epic life-altering journey for three women you can’t help but root for. So, you better watch it.

WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: Snow is no stranger to the big screen. One of her most well-known roles is Chloe Beale, the kinder of the Barden Bella ladies in Pitch Perfect. Despite having graduated, Chloe and her incredible vocals return for both Pitch Perfect 2 and Pitch Perfect 3. Snow also sang her heart out as Amber Von Tussle in the 2007 movie musical Hairspray. She also played leading roles in the remake of the thriller Prom Night and John Tucker Must Die.

Snow originated the role of Meg Pryor in American Dreams, the NBC series centered around Meg’s coming of age during the 1960’s and appearing on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand. She also appeared as Ariel Alderman in the third season of Nip/Tuck. She’s even been in three episodes of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend as Josh Chan’s significantly cooler love interest, Anna Hicks.

WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: This gal won’t be leaving us anytime soon. Her latest movie Someone Great hits Netflix this Friday, which is perfect timing for your bingeing needs. Snow is also working on a few upcoming projects too! Bailey and Darla is a film about a prickly sex addict (Snow) and a timid cancer patient (Sam Richardson) who endure a deceitful form of therapy where they drive across the country redoing Darla’s past ~engagements~. Snow is also working on a film called Stripped and a TV pilot for a series called Sisters, which don’t have release dates yet but we’re praying they’re sometime soon.
