‘Cobra Kai’ Will Be Available To Stream For Free This Fall

It may have been a cruel summer, but it’s going to be a generous autumn.

The inevitable third season renewal wasn’t the only Cobra Kai news to come out of YouTube HQ last night. The platform announced that both Seasons 1 and 2 of their hit Karate Kid revival series will be available to stream for free this fall. For a two week period — August 29th to September 11th — all ten Season 1 episodes of Cobra Kai will be streaming for free on YouTube. Beginning on September 11th, free ad-supported episodes of Cobra Kai Season 2 will drop weekly on the platform.

For the uninitiated, Cobra Kai not only continues the legendary rivalry between Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, but it also introduces viewers to a new cast of characters that continue the Karate Kid legacy. A wholly immersive combination of brilliant acting (give William Zabka all the Emmys), exceptional storytelling, and nostalgia, Season 1 earned a rare 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes on its way to becoming the highest-reviewed reboot of all time.

The first episode, which is currently available to watch for free, has been streamed over 62 million times on YouTube. Trust me when I say that you don’t have to be a Karate Kid fan to enjoy Cobra Kai.

The next order of business? Convincing Elisabeth Shue to return to the franchise for Cobra Kai Season 3.
