We’re just going to come right out and say it: there’s so much hitting streaming this weekend. Between Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and HBO, there are dozens (maybe even hundreds?) of new shows and movies premiering this week, and that’s on top of all the new titles that hit each platform at the beginning of the month. Feeling overwhelmed yet?
After months of anticipation, Zac Efron’s Ted Bundy movie Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile debuts on Netflix today. The drama follows Bundy’s girlfriend Elizabeth Kloepfer, played by Lily Collins, as she reckons with the heinous nature of the man she loves. If you looking for something lighter to watch afterwards, check out Tuca & Bertie, Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong’s animated comedy that’s about as far from Extremely Wicked as humanly possible.
Over on Amazon, you won’t want to miss Suspiria, Luca Guadagnino’s supernatural horror remake. With amazing performances from Dakota Johnson, Tilda Swinton, Chloe Grace Moretz, and more, this trippy drama is one that will stay with you long after the screen fades to black.

Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile
Zac Efron has never been so sinister. In Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, the High School Musical alum trades in his basketball uniform for a prison jumpsuit to take on notorious serial killer Ted Bundy. Joe Berlinger’s film tells Bundy’s story through the eyes of his girlfriend, Elizabeth Kloepfer (Lily Collins), who refused to believe the truth about the real-life villain for years. With supporting performances from Haley Joel Osment, Jim Parsons, Kaya Scodelario, and John Malkovich, Extremely Wicked is fitting follow-up (albeit a dramatized one) to Netflix docu-series Conversations with a Killer: The Ted Bundy Tapes.

Tuca & Bertie: Season 1
Meet Tuca (voiced by Tiffany Haddish) and Bertie (Ali Wong), two best friends navigating the treacherous world of adulthood. Tuca, a free-spirited toucan, often pushes Bertie, a meek songbird, out of her comfort zone, but no matter how crazy she may be, she always has her friend’s best interests at heart. It’s practically impossible not to immediately fall for this sweet and silly animated comedy, so make sure you set aside a good chunk of the weekend to binge-watch the 10-episode season on Netflix.

Suspiria
There’s no film on streaming quite like Suspiria. Luca Guadagnino’s 2018 remake of Dario Argento’s classic follows an American woman named Susie Bannion (Dakota Johnson) who enrolls in a prestigious dance academy in Berlin. Susie soon learns that the academy is run by a coven of witches who worship The Three Mothers, a trio of chaos-causing witches. As Susie begins to attract attention from the school’s artistic director, Madame Blanc (Tilda Swinton), she becomes part of a malicious plot that threatens to destroy the academy and its talented students.
