‘Still Laugh-In’ Is on Netflix, but Can You Stream the Original Series?

With Still Laugh-In: The Stars Celebrate, Netflix pays tribute to Laugh-In, a truly iconic TV comedy show that paved the way for pretty much every political satire and sketch show over the past 45 years. The special, hosted by Neil Patrick Harris and Tiffany Haddish, features classic clips from the original run of Rowan and Martin’s Laugh-In and includes topical new comedy bits featuring modern faves like Bobby Moynihan, Chelsea Handler, Tony Hale, Maria Bamford, and Rob Riggle. Even legends like Michael Douglas, Billy Crystal, and Rita Moreno show up to have a groovy good time!

Who was in the original Laugh-In cast?

The variety/sketch show was hosted by comedy duo Dan Rowan and Dick Martin. Gary Owens served as the announcer and regularly appeared on-camera. Of the entire cast, only Ruth Buzzi stuck with the show for all 6 seasons. The most famous performers to get their start on Laugh-In are Oscar winner Goldie Hawn and 5-time Emmy winner Lily Tomlin. Hawn actually won her Oscar (Best Supporting Actress for Cactus Flower) immediately after finishing Season 3 of Laugh-In, her final season on the show. Tomlin starred in a string of acclaimed solo comedy specials in the ’70s and ’80s and is currently the co-lead of Netflix’s long-running comedy series Grace and Frankie.
