As a wise, alcoholic man once said, that’s the waaaay the news goes. At WarnerMedia’s upfront it was announced that Rick and Morty Season 4 would be returning to all of our lives this November. That means we’re all just six months away from watching the best manic-depressive grandfather and grandson duo on television wreck the multiverse.

Created by Dan Harmon and Justin Roiland, Rick and Morty has grown into one of the most beloved, ravenously consumed, and surprising pop culture events in modern TV history. The series follows a brilliant alcoholic mad scientist Rick (Roiland) as he goes on wacky interstellar adventures with his perpetually worried grandson Morty (also Roiland). That’s it; that’s the premise. But as is the case with all things Rick and Morty there’s always so much more going on. As the series has evolved it’s transformed into a heart-wrenching and brutally honest examination of emotional abuse, self-hatred, substance abuse, depression, mental illness, and toxic family dynamics. Plus it’s freaking hysterical which never hurts anything.

In true Rick and Morty form, Adult Swim dropped the November return news in a rambling clip featuring our faves:

We’re so freaking close, people. Fans of the series knew that more episodes of Rick and Morty were on the way. Adult Swim renewed the show for 70 (yes 70) additional episodes last May. However as is always the case with this sci-fi animated comedy the question is never if it was going to return but when is it going to return. There was almost a two year hiatus between Seasons 2 and 3, something the show itself even joked about. The gap between Seasons 3 and 4 is already going to be even more intense than that. Season 3 of the series concluded in October of 2017. That means that when Season 4 premieres we will have gone over two years without hearing new Justin Roiland burps.

And that’s two years without answers to some pretty pressing questions. Questions like what’s going on with Tammy and Birdperson? Will Jerry ever really return to his family? Is Beth going to turn into a brilliant monster like her father? What’s going on with the evil Morty who’s now in charge of the Council of Ricks? And what in god’s name is a plumbus??

We’ll know all in November.
