It didn’t even take a full episode of Southern Charm Season 6 before the Bravo series delivered on the best kind of drama: a rumored hookup between two cast members. Yes!
During Patricia Altschul’s dinner party, Chelsea innocently leans over to Austen and asks, “What if Kathryn and Whitney got back together?” Longtime Southern Charm fans will remember back to Season 1 when the friends previously hooked up, and Kathryn referenced that evening when she noted that the last time she was at Patricia’s house, she spent the night and was a mere 21 years old!
Chelsea relays that fun fact to Austen who informs her, “No. This summer.”
“This summer?” Chelsea asks with wide eyes.
“They fucked,” he tells her in no uncertain terms, explaining that the news came from Kathryn herself.
Chelsea turns investigative reporter and doesn’t hesitate to turn to her pal, saying, “Whitney, I need to ask you something. It’s probably really inappropriate, do you care if it’s inappropriate?”
“No, I welcome it,” he responds, just seconds before proving how false that statement will turn out to be.
“I’m nosy, I just want to know, did you sleep with Kathryn this summer?” Chelsea asks on the long, winding journey to answers.
“What? Why would you even…” is the best response Whitney can stammer in the moment, making it look like this rumor just might be true. When Chelsea explains, “That’s the word on the street,” he can only retort, “I don’t know what kind of word you’re talking about.”
After she questions his lack of eye contact and he says he’s “uncomfortable” with her line of questioning, Whitney then asks if she’s slept with Chelsea, except…she IS Chelsea.
Of course it’s just moments later that Kathryn leans over to Whitney to ask if he’s mad at her. “No, she’s asking if we slept together,” he says in a whisper. Kathryn reacts with a simple eye roll and an “Oh, boy,” but it’s her pal’s lack of poker face that’s making this rumor seem real.
Hopefully upon her return to Patricia’s house, Kathryn was able to collect her bra and other belongings she left behind the last time. There will be more details on this event to come on this season of Southern Charm, but what a juicy tidbit to kick it all off with!
