‘Southern Charm’ Shows No Signs of Slowing Down in Season 6

I’ll be the first to admit, I was worried. After Season 5 of Southern Charm, I was afraid that calling people an “egg donor” would become not only the norm, but the vicious level of drama the Bravo series would only hope to replicate. But there’s good news and bad news. The bad news: yes, meanie Ashley Jacobs is back. The good news: so are all the qualities that make Southern Charm a fun, soapy show without every episode leaving you stressed out.

Southern Charm Season 6 kicks off tonight on Bravo (8pm ET/PT) and it might be a perfect first episode to introduce the new season. First of all, there’s a dinner party at Patricia’s house, and those are always a doozy. Plus, we get some good updates from our favorite Charmers, and it’s as fun and comforting as seeing an old pal.

Cameran’s a mom now, Craig got all tan, and Shep is the same ol’ Shep we always want him to be. Naomie’s got a new man, Austen’s got a new lady, and Chelsea’s got a new house. Plus, the show picks up literally the day after Thomas Ravenel got arrested, but aside from Kathryn pulling up his mug shot on her phone, he’s absent from this season. Oh, don’t you worry though because there’s still plenty going on.

You’ll be seeing a lot more of Austen’s girlfriend Madison LeCroy (not to mention that mysterious video from last summer), and there’s another new cast member, Eliza Limehouse. Name sound vaguely familiar? She’s the gal that threw the pool party in the first episode of Season 4, but she’s going to make a much bigger splash this time around. Yes, she’s friends with Thomas and Ashley, and yes, that’s how Ashley weasels her way back into the action, but there is SO much more to enjoy about this upcoming season.

Southern Charm is back to doing what Southern Charm does best. There’s gossiping, rumors of hookups, delightfully awkward moments, silliness, and Southern culture all wrapped into an episode that’s going to make you wish you were invited to Patricia’s dinner party too. In other words, this season isn’t all about baby mama drama (and, you know, new girlfriend BS). It’s about the rifts and tiffs of this endlessly entertaining friend group. You want shocking moments? LOL, buckle up, they’re on the way. But if you also want to watch a bunch, perhaps the best bunch, of goofballs in Charleston, this is still very much the show for you.

Stay tuned to Decider for all things Southern Charm!

Southern Charm premieres tonight at 8pm ET/PT on Bravo.
