Don’t worry–if you’re looking for the basics about High Seas, we’re here to steer you in the right direction. Here’s everything you need to know before jumping into the deep end.

What is High Seas on Netflix about?

This murder mystery series from Spain is set on a transatlantic ship in the 1940s. The series focuses on two opposite sisters, Eva and Carolina, as well as a ship full of colorful characters all hoping to find romance and adventure during their journey from Europe to South America. What they end up finding, however, is a dead body–a woman that wasn’t even on the passenger list! Trapped on the boat with a murderer, every passenger becomes an amateur sleuth while also fighting to keep their own personal secrets hidden.

The series is the latest from Spanish showrunner Carlos Sedes, the director behind previous international hits like Velvet, Grand Hotel, and Netflix’s Cable Girls.
