Bill Maher Offers To Coach Unenthusiastic Democrats In 2020 Election

Last night, the host of HBO’s Real Time with Bill Maher had some “New Rules” for the Democratic Party to abide by as they head into a 2020 Presidential election against Donald J. Trump. “I want all Democrats to memorize these two words: Message Discipline,” Maher scoffed. “Republicans win for two reasons: teamwork and cheating. And they’re really good at both.”

Maher continued lacing into the over-saturated pool of candidates, offering to be their coach, citing recent polls showing that Democrats have lost their enthusiasm edge over Republicans.

“They seem to have shed none of the bad habits that hurt them in recent elections,” said Maher. “The identity politics, the purity testing, the petty infighting… losing to Trump should have jolted them into a higher state of seriousness but it did not.”

“23 candidates??” mocked the HBO host. “That’s not a primary that’s an Avengers movie.” He later declared that “the signup period” for candidates “is over.”

That’s when Maher offered to be the party’s coach, claiming that “this year, I’ve tried to be that coach” before launching into a series of viral clips from some of his previous episodes this season. He then laid out some ground rules, including “Stop Apologizing,” “Stand Up To Twitter” and “Go Where The Votes Are.”

“Get out of woke-ville for a day… see what’s going on in mullet-town,” joked Maher. “You’ve already got NPR… GO ON FOX!!”
