‘Below Deck Mediterranean’ Season 4 on Bravo: The Ultimate Summer Escape Series Is Back

Last season, Below Deck Mediterranean kicked off with a group of women who dared to tell Chef Adam that the delicious food he had prepped, according to their preference sheet, looked like something they would feed their dogs. And it only got more insane as the season sailed on, including a love triangle, a hookup that went wrong over cigarettes, and a tender ride that angered Captan Sandy like never before.

The fourth season of Below Deck Mediterranean kicks off tonight on Bravo at 9pm ET/PT and there’s good news and bad news following Season 3’s fantastic season. This one doesn’t get quite as intense as quickly, so the good news is: there’s plenty of room for drama to come.

Below Deck Med is one of the most thoroughly fun shows on Bravo, one that scratches the nostalgia itch for those of us that grew up on MTV’s Road Rules. With frequent turnover of the yachties each season, guaranteed smooches, and dependable drama from the rich people chartering these massive boats, this show proves to be unexpected, funny, and interesting every season, making it the perfect summer escape to the South of France without having to shell out all that cash for the experience.

Returning this season is Captain Sandy, who means serious business in her third season on the show. This is guaranteed to keep the staff on their toes, and promises that some are sure to find themselves out on their butts. Hannah is also back as Chief Stew, running the show in the interior of the boat, and this time around she swears she’s dedicated to focusing on her work. Initially, this worried me, as she’s most entertaining when she’s more focused on a cute guy. Luckily, it excited me to remember that’s likely to happen at some point this season.

Joao also returns, after challenging his bosun, flirting with two stews, and crying in the corner of the reunion taping last season. This time around, he’s bosun which allows him to call the shots on the deck of the yacht, and love, hate, or love to hate him, he’s always good for some drama. On the opposite of that spectrum is Colin, the sweetest boy that ever did rap. His return is great news, as his silly personality didn’t get to shine until the end of last season.

The newbies include deckhand Travis, sure to challenge Joao’s authority and Hannah’s dedication to her job, and Jack, an offbeat deckhand whose Liverpudlian accent causes nearly everything he says (and he makes some…interesting comments, for sure) to be subtitled. Inside, there’s stew Aesha, who is admittedly as horny as she is hilarious, and Anastasia, a perfectionist who also seems pretty personable. In a first for the series, they’ve employed female chef Mila to (wo)man the kitchen this season, and even though she’s got the best food training in the world, if her first offering is any indication, well, there’s going to be a lot of heat coming from the kitchen — in more than one way.

It is a bit of a bummer to not have Chef Adam returning, who was perhaps at his most functional (and funniest) last season, but he’s currently cooking, hanging out with his dog Tex, and traveling in his van while filming a new series called Stoked for Outside TV. So as we glide into Season 4 of Below Deck Mediterranean, I look forward to (and highly anticipate) some juicy hookups, some unbelievably ridiculous guests, and another season of the Bravo series that is just as much fun to watch from your couch as it is to fly to France and get on a fancy boat, basically.

Below Deck Mediterranean premieres Monday, June 3 at 9pm ET/PT on Bravo.
