When Will ‘Outlander’ Season 3 Hit Netflix?

If you love steamy historical fiction with time travel twists and you don’t have a Starz account, then Netflix just came through for you in a big way. The streaming giant just added Seasons 1-2 of the cult favorite romance series Outlander at the end of May, and lordy are the people streaming it! The series stars Caitriona Balfe as as a World War II nurse who is transported back in time to 18th century Scotland, where she runs across a hunky Highlander named Jamie Fraser.

After bingeing all of Outlander Seasons 1-2 on Netflix, the true pain is knowing there are two more seasons out there just waiting for you. Outlander Season 3 aired in 2017 and Season 4 just wrapped in January 2019. The thing is, if you want to watch them right now, you need a Starz account. But since Seasons1-2 are on Netflix, it only makes logical sense that 3 and 4 will join them! But when?!

When does Outlander Season 3 come out on Netflix?

Unfortunately, the answer is truly anyone’s guess. While other networks tend to add later seasons of their shows to Netflix like clockwork, a set number of days after a finale wraps its original run, there’s no rhyme or reason to Starz’s methodology. In fact, original Starz content usually stays on Starz! Well, except for some shows that are on Hulu, and the handful that are on Netflix. Starz does what Starz wants!

Currently there are three Starz series on Netflix: Outlander, Ash vs. Evil Dead, and Spartacus. All of Spartacus was added at once back in 2015, and Ash vs. Evil Dead Seasons 1-2 were added together a year after Season 2 ended. Then, Season 3 was added to Netflix a year after it wrapped on Starz.

With that in mind, it’s maybe possible that Outlander Seasons 3-4 will be added together on January 27, 2020, a year after Season 4 ended. But then again, they could all end up on Hulu at some point (Starz original Party Down’s jumped from service to service)! But then again again, Season 3 and Season 4 could be added separately, with 3 possibly coming sooner than next year. It’s really a mystery!
