Comedy Central Is Roasting Alec Baldwin This Summer

Comedy Central has chosen their next target to roast: none other than Alec Baldwin.

The actor, host, comedian, professional phone yeller, etc, etc will join a select list of individuals to be officially made fun of in front of a nationally televised audience by some of their friends and peers (and other randos). Though the Comedy Central Roasts often get vicious, they’re with the cooperation of the target so, you know, it’s not that big of a deal.

And there’s plenty of material to mine with Baldwin, who has had a long, storied career often marred by controversy. He’s best known recently for his Donald Trump impression on Saturday Night Live (and wouldn’t it be a big get for the network if the President took time out of his busy schedule golfing and watching TV to tape a message for Baldwin?), but has had a career decades long. He’s also, as mentioned, known for yelling people over the phone and occasionally getting into serious legal trouble.

Comedy Central’s roasts first started in 1998 with Drew Carey, originally just a televised broadcast of the classic Friar’s Club roasts in New York. Eventually, the network launched its own franchise, tackling everyone form Charlie Sheen to Roseanne Barr. And of note, the roastees are able to veto certain topics seen as off-limits. Will Baldwin ban chat about his phone convos? Or will the bellicose actor be fair game for any japes coming his way?

We’ll find out when the Comedy Central Roast of Alec Baldwin airs this Summer. Check out the official announcement tweet below, and speculate wildly about which one of Baldwin’s brothers will show up to roast his schweddy balls.
