Summer is coming and Woman Crush Wednesday is once again upon us… what more could we possibly ask for? Get ready to gush over another one of Decider’s favorite ladies. We’re living for this WCW, even if she’s best known for being undead. Let’s hear it for Rose McIver!
WHO’S THAT GAL: Rose McIver
WHY WE’RE CRUSHING: Since 2015, McIver has been crushing it in the CW’s iZombie. In the series, McIver plays Liv Moore, a medical student who gets turned into a zombie. Through the course of the series, Liv takes on new personas based on the traits from the person’s brain she last ate. Trust me, it’s freaking great.
Our praise for McIver is long overdue. Not only has she captured our hearts as Liv Moore but she makes us fall in love again and again during every episode. Whether the gang works on solving murders or saving Seattle from total destruction, McIver never misses a beat. She hits the more serious tones of the show and makes us tear up just as often as she makes us belly laugh during her more comedic moments.
One of the best parts about Liv’s character is that she is the brave zombie we know and love, but also a totally different character with each brain. Through the course of five seasons, McIver has played a dominatrix, a wannabe superhero, a fitness junkie, and so much more! It’s pretty much the ultimate acting exercise and McIver nails it every time.
McIver is the reason Liv Moore lives and breathes (or doesn’t, if we’re being technical). We are continuously blown away by McIver’s performance in iZombie and will miss it so much when the series ends later this summer.
WHERE YOU’VE SEEN HER BEFORE: McIver is certainly no stranger to the streaming world. If you’re not a huge iZombie fan, you very well may recognize her from her other projects. In 2017, McIver starred in the movie that stole all of our hearts, A Christmas Prince. She plays Amber, an aspiring young journalist who goes undercover to seek the truth about the playboy soon-to-be king of Aldovia. During her stay, she totally falls in love with the prince and the two get engaged. So, of course, McIver also reprised her role in the sequel, A Christmas Prince: The Royal Wedding.
McIver appeared as Tinkerbell in ABC’s fairytale-inspired series Once Upon A Time. She played Vivian Scully in Masters of Sex, reappearing for eight episodes. The actress also starred as Lindsey Salmon in The Lovely Bones.
WHERE YOU’LL SEE HER AGAIN: Don’t worry just yet, iZombie still has plenty more episodes to get you through the summer (the series finale will air on August 1). After that, you’ll just have to wait a few more months for McIver’s return as Amber Moore in A Christmas Prince: The Royal Baby, the third installment of Netflix’s hit holiday flicks.
