New Movies on Demand: ‘Us,’ ‘A Madea Family Funeral,’ ‘Gloria Bell,’ and More

What do we want? The weekend! When do we want it? Now! Lucky for us, the waltz of time has taken our request and granted us our wish: today is Friday, the opening act for the pants-rippin’ rock and roll act that is the weekend. You’re ready to leave all your cares behind and jam out to some movies from the comfort of your living room amphitheater. What’s on your setlist? Whether you use Amazon Video, iTunes, Vudu or your cable’s on demand service, there are a lot of new releases out there waiting for you to discover.

You’re finally able to stream the final installment in Tyler Perry’s Madea saga, A Madea Family Funeral. On top of that, you can also rent Gloria Bell, a drama starring Julianne Moore as a middle-aged woman who gets her swag back post-divorce while cutting it up on the dance floor. For music lovers, the Lynyrd Skynyrd documentary If I Leave Here Tomorrow is available to purchase, and you can rent the biopic Mapplethorpe, which casts ex-Doctor Who star Matt Smith as the provocative queer photographer Robert Mapplethorpe.

What else can you buy or rent this week? Find out by taking a look at the collection of haunting horror, fun family movies, and informative documentaries!

Us

Jordan Peele’s follow up to the Academy Award-winning Get Out scared up even more stellar reviews and a whole lot of money at the box office. The film’s even scarier than Get Out, as it puts a normal family up against their murderous doppelgangers as an existential crisis turns deadlier and deadlier. Black Panther stars Lupita Nyong’o and Winston Duke lead a cast that also includes Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, Anna Diop, Elisabeth Moss, and Tim Heidecker. If the thought of owning this movie forever terrifies you, you’ll be able to rent it starting on June 18.

Wonder Park

On the other end of the spectrum from Us is Wonder Park, an animated feature film about a teen girl’s quest to save the amusement park she dreamed up when she was a little kid. Turns out things can get wilder when you let your imagination run wild! The film features the voice talents of Jennifer Garner, Matthew Broderick, Mila Kunis, Kenan Thompson, and John Oliver. You can buy the film digitally right now, or you can wait and rent it on June 18 (although you know the kids are probably gonna wanna rewatch this one).
