Fans who’ve already streamed all ten episodes of Gabriel Iglesias’ new Netflix comedy Mr. Iglesias have one simple question: When will Season 2 drop?!

A dash of old-school TNBC mixed with a hint of TGIF, Mr. Iglesias centers on a good-natured high school teacher who works tirelessly to educate a group of gifted but misfit students. Thematically similar to Hanging with Mr. Cooper and Welcome Back Kotter, the sitcom features an all-star supporting cast, including Sherri Shepherd, Jacob Vargas, Maggie Geha, Richard Gant, Oscar Nuñez, Christopher McDonald, and many more. Sure, we’ve seen the “teacher who cares too much, dammit!” story before, but Mr. Iglesias is a fun, light-hearted show that’s easy to enjoy.

Has Mr. Iglesias been renewed for Season 2? Here’s everything we know so far.

HAS MR. IGLESIAS BEEN RENEWED FOR SEASON 2?

Nope. But that’s perfectly normal considering the series only premiered on June 21st.

WILL THERE BE A MR. IGLESIAS SEASON 2?

Netflix has been less predictable lately when it comes to renewals and cancelations (cough, cough, One Day at a Time). That said, we believe there’s a very good chance that class will be back in session for Season 2. First, the series has been well-received by critics and fans alike, earning an 83% Tomatometer score on Rotten Tomatoes and 8.6/10 on IMDB.

Considering that similar Netflix shows aimed at a younger audience have earned additional seasons (Atypical, Alexa & Katie, Fuller House, On My Block, Sabrina, Go! Live Your Way) and the search traffic surrounding the series appears to be above average, we’d say there’s a very good chance Mr. Iglesias will receive a second season on Netflix.

WHEN CAN WE EXPECT MR. IGLESIAS SEASON 2 TO ARRIVE ON NETFLIX?

*** It’s official! Mr. Iglesias Part 2 premieres on Netflix June 17, 2020! ***

Netflix announced the ten episode series order on April 26, 2018 and made additional cast announcements from August to October of 2018. If the show is renewed for Season 2 in the near future and follows a similar timetable, we’d expect to see new episodes in the spring of 2020.
