‘Haunting of Hill House’ Star Victoria Pedretti Will Star in Season 2, ‘Haunting of Bly Manor’

Victoria Pedretti, aka Nell Crain from Netflix’s The Haunting of Hill House, will play the lead character in the second season of the anthology series, which is called The Haunting of Bly Manor. The new season is headed to Netflix in 2020.

Pedretti, who was a stand out in the first season of the supernatural horror series, announced the news via a video on the official Haunting of Hill House Twitter page.

“I’m very excited to announce that I will be returning to the Haunting universe in Season 2, The Haunting of Bly Manor,” said Pedretti. “I play Dani, a governess who takes care of two very unusual children.”

As previously reported, the new season will be based on Henry James’s The Turn of the Screw.  Those of us who were forced to read that 1898 novella in high school know that means the story will be about a governess who looks after two children in a house that is haunted by spirits. It looks like poor Nell Crain just can’t seem to escape those ghosts!

Pedretti, who is 24, has several other projects going, including a role in the second season of Netflix’s You, where she will play a character named Love Quinn. She will also appear in Quentin Tarantino’s ninth film, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, as Lulu, a member of the Manson cult.

The first season of The Haunting of Hill House was based on the 1959 Shirley Jackson novel of the same name, though it was updated for modern times. It’s not yet clear whether the next season will do the same, or leave the events of The Turn of the Screw at the turn of the century. The series was created by Mike Flanagan and starred Michiel Huisman, Carla Gugino, Henry Thomas, Elizabeth Reaser, Oliver Jackson-Cohen, Kate Siegel, Lulu Wilson, Mckenna Grace, Paxton Singleton, Julian Hilliard, Violet McGraw, and Timothy Hutton, in addition to Pedretti.

Just my professional opinion, but I think it might be time to call the Ghostbusters.
