The ‘Stranger Things’ Cast Surprising Fans at a Wax Museum is the Most Delightful Thing You’ll Watch All Week

Greetings from the Upside Down. This week, the Stranger Things cast stopped by The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon to promote Season 3 (it hits Netflix on July 4), and it didn’t take long for Fallon to recruit the young stars for a prank. In order to scare up some excitement for Stranger Things Season 3, the group dressed up as their respective characters — with Fallon playing Barb — and spooked visitors expecting to see a wax exhibit of the Netflix show. Of course, The Tonight Show got everyone’s reactions on camera to create a three-minute segment packed with screams, expletives, and more than a few group photos.

In order to fully sell the prank, Fallon had to convince a majority of the cast to participate, and he succeeded: Millie Bobby Brown, Gaten Matarazzo, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, and Sadie Sink were all down to scare some unsuspecting fans. “Hey guys, we’re the cast of Stranger Things, and we’re here in Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum in Times Square,” said Matarazzo by way of introduction. “We’re going to surprise some fans who think they’re here to see a new Stranger Things wax exhibit.” Fallon, dressed as Season 1 standout Barb, then joined the group, and they were ready to get things moving.

As the first group of visitors walked in, the Stranger Things cast stood totally still — honestly, they are very good at this — and sold the fake “exhibit.” Right as the guests were about to take their photo, Brown snuck up behind them and screamed, causing the woman to freak out… and then freak out again when they realized what was going on. The crew repeated the prank on a few more groups of visitors, all of whom went through the same fear-confusion-excitement cycle. “Don’t cry!” Brown said to one girl. “You look so stupid,” another guest told Fallon. “You scared the crap out of me — I’m a grown man, don’t do that!”
