Can you believe it’s been 20 years since Jason Biggs hopped up on a kitchen island and humped a pie? Time sure flies when you’re feeling horny! That’s right, American Pie, the film that had every teen flocking to the theater in 1999 is now two full decades old.
So in honor of this iconic film’s anniversary, Decider partnered with the New York Post and Page Six to rewatch the ultimate ’90s comedy and determine if today American Pie is a throwback or a throwout.
Does that pie scene still hold up? Do you remember what happened that one time at band camp? You know Stifler’s mom is a total queen, right? Do you even realize how funny Eugene Levy is in this film? Did John Cho coin the term “MILF”? Wait, Nadia was deported for touching herself (unknowingly!) on her classmate’s webcam? We revisited all these cinematic gems and more. But most of all, we had to ask ourselves, is this movie still actually…funny? If it’s been a while (like, maybe 20 years) since you’ve seen the movie, you might be surprised by what holds up and what definitely does not.
See what conclusion we came to in the video above and here’s to 20 more years of humping pies!
