Chris Evans’s Cap Beard is Back in Netflix’s ‘Red Sea Diving Resort’ Trailer

If you mourned the loss of Cap’s beard in Avengers: Endgame, Netflix has a treat for you. Chris Evans and his beard are back in The Red Sea Diving Resort, a new biographical drama film directed by Gideon Raff. Netflix dropped The Red Sea Diving Resort trailer today—which you can watch above—which stars Evans in a new kind of superhero role: An agent who must rescue and evacuate Jewish-Ethiopians from Sudan in 1981. The film, which was produced by Raff, Aaron L. Gilbert, and Alexandra Milchan, was picked up by Netflix in February and will premiere on the streaming service at the end of the month, on July 31.

It’s based on the true story of Mossad agents who used a deserted hotel to smuggle refugees out of Sudan, led by a man named Ari Kidron (played by Evans). But the trailer reveals the film will be more of a spy thriller than a history lesson, similar to 2018’s Operation Finale starring Oscar Isaac and Ben Kingsley. Kingsley also appears in The Red Sea Diving Resort, along with Greg Kinnear, Michael K. Williams, Haley Bennett, Alessandro Nivola, Michiel Huisman, and Chris Chalk.

But let’s get to the part that you all care about: Chris Evans and his beard. In the trailer, Evans has his full Infinity War-era Cap beard, likely because the star was filming both projects around the same time. Oh, how I missed that beard. It’s so full and luscious and beautiful. I’m aware that there are likely words coming out of Evans’s mouth in this trailer—probably important ones too, about the best way to save these Ethiopian refugees—but all I hear is “Beard, beard, beard.” Congratulations are in order to The Girl on the Train‘s Haley Bennett, who seems to be the only woman in the film, and therefore almost definitely Evans’s love interest. Hope she’s a fan of beard tickles when she leans in for the kiss!

The Red Sea Diving Resort is coming to Netflix on July 31.
