June Cleaver has nothing on these ladies. Workin’ Moms is back on Netflix with Season 2, and this time it’s raunchier, funnier, and surprisingly more heartfelt than ever before.

Created, executive produced by, and starring Catherine Reitman, Workin’ Moms was originally broadcast on CBC Television before Netflix bought its international rights. The Canadian sitcom follows a group of young mothers who are all in the same mommy and me support group. These moms run the gamut of motherhood, from overworked career women and professionals working from home to hippy stay at home mothers and college-aged women ready to party. But they all understand the same basic truth: being a mom is freaking hard.

Last season saw a whirlwind of changes for this comedy’s four central ladies. As Kate (Reitman) was forced to go against everything she worked for and choose her sick son over her career, her best friend Anne (Dani Kind) had to balance her at-home therapy practice with her unplanned for newborn. Meanwhile PTSD left the ethereal Frankie (Juno Rinaldi) completely detached from her family, and the young Jenny (Jessalyn Wanlim) had the most drastic transition of all. After trying to make it work with a husband she was apathetic toward and a kid she didn’t want, Jenny fled.

Now in Season 2 these families have to face the consequences of their drastic reactions. And one thing’s for sure, it’s going to be as crazy as it is funny.

From It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia to The Big Bang Theory television is full of hopelessly irresponsible man children stumbling through life. But thanks to Catherine Reitman hilarious and endlessly frank take on adulthood, moms are getting the same bumbling treatment. It’s nice to know there’s at least one show that treats its mothers not as perfect saints but as the messy screw ups we all secretly are.
