Screwball comes from documentary filmmaker Billy Corben. He’s no stranger to the world of true crime docs, either, as he made the 2006 film Cocaine Cowboys. His other work includes the 2011 doc Limelight, which charts the New York City club scene of the ’80s and ’90s, and the 2015 MMA doc Dawg Fight. He’s also directed installments of the docu-series 30 for 30, including “The U” and “Broke.”
