Screwball tells the wild true story of a steroid scandal that rocked the baseball world back in 2013. The larger-than-life Tony Bosch takes center stage in the doc, telling the tale of his stint as a shady doctor using his shadier connections to hook up a bunch of major league baseball players with performance-enhancing drugs, including New York Yankees superstar Alex Rodriguez. But just because the doc digs deep into scandal and the Miami drug scene doesn’t mean it’s a dark ride. When you have a charismatic showboat like Bosch telling the story, things are bound to be take on a “WTF” tone.

**Who made Screwball?**

Screwball comes from documentary filmmaker Billy Corben. He’s no stranger to the world of true crime docs, either, as he made the 2006 film Cocaine Cowboys. His other work includes the 2011 doc Limelight, which charts the New York City club scene of the ’80s and ’90s, and the 2015 MMA doc Dawg Fight. He’s also directed installments of the docu-series 30 for 30, including “The U” and “Broke.”
