‘Southern Charm’ Finale: Ashley Getting Escorted Out of Patricia’s Party Was Even More Satisfying Than Expected

We knew it was coming since we saw the Southern Charm Season 6 trailer, and even Patricia knew it was coming due to her beefed up security, but Ashley Jacobs getting kicked out of the stag ball brought with it a sense of closure, satisfaction, and enjoyment that no one could’ve predicted.

The Patricia Altschul vs. Ashley Jacobs drama has been brewing online for over a year, and with the latest episode, the two finally share the face to face we’ve wanted to see, and the shove out the door we wanted to see even more.

Patricia unloaded to Kathryn Dennis early in the episode while they shopped for shoes for the fancy cocktail party, urging her to not believe any apologies from Ashley and saying, “I think she’s vindictive. She’ll do anything to get back at me because I have given her a really rough time on social media.”

“I turned against Ashley when she started to cyberbully me on social media, saying things that weren’t true, defaming me, and I’m not a shrinking violet,” Patricia explained in her interview. “She’s ill-equipped to get into that kind of warfare with me,” she stated with a smile.

Of course, it’s sweet Eliza Limehouse who lets the deets on the party slip to Ashley, and even though Eliza tries her hardest to change the subject, Ashley’s not letting it go. “My biggest regret was listening to Patricia and siding with her and not Kathryn,” Ashley tells Eliza at the beginning of a tirade that’s about to get pretty ugly. “I hate Patricia for doing that. She’s a piece of shit. I am so regretful that I ever believed that bitch,” Ashley spews, saying that she blames last year’s outbursts on Patricia as well, a pretty yucky but very convenient way to avoid taking responsibility for her own actions.

“I was doing her dirty work, she was stirring the pot,” Ashley continues.

“Nobody else has issues with her,” Eliza reminds her.

“Of course they don’t because they see what happens if they go against her,” Ashley spits out while she has random hair foils dangling from her head, adding to the crazy. “Why am I the only person that sees this? That bitch called me a gold digger. I will never forgive her for that.”

Eliza offers to read Ashley some Bible quotes, not the worst idea at the moment, but Ashley’s not done yet.

“This person’s a horrible person. I’m so angry what she did to me, I’m so hurt by her,” Ashley says before asking Eliza, “Where’s the event at again tomorrow?” like we didn’t all know she was cooking up some master plan.

“Ashley, you’re looking a little crazy,” Eliza warns her, but all Ashley’s focused on is Miss Pat. “Karma’s a bitch and she’s going down,” Ashley says in her best villain voice, as Eliza turns to her Bible app.

And then the big event arrives. Of course, you’ll have to wait until the last three minutes of the entire season to watch this all go down, but once it does, it doesn’t disappoint. Patricia arrives at the soiree with Mr. Kale, explaining, “He’s security. I do not want a replay of last year. I mean business.” She goes on to say that he “owns a security company: international, local, investigative, plus he packs heat,” with a laugh.

But there are no giggles when Ashley finally crashes the party, just dropped jaws and looks of disbelief at the balls on this lady. She marches right up to Patricia to say hi, and Patricia greets her with an overly friendly “Hi, how are you?” combined with actual fear on her face at the sight of this woman.

“Sorry, we were just in the neighborhood,” Ashley offers. “Do you have a moment to chat?” she asks, and while Patricia says yes, with the next breath she’s introducing Ashley to Mr. Kale.

“I’m gonna have to ask you to leave, Ashley,” he says, uttering the words we’ve all been waiting two seasons to hear.

“Patricia, I know what you did and the truth will come out!” Ashley threatens as she’s pushed towards the door. “You don’t have to push me,” she tells Mr. Kale, but like, yes he does girl. Patricia looks shaken as hell as everyone else at the party watches on at the incident happening in front of them.

Once outside, Ashley calls Thomas to whine about getting kicked out of a party she wasn’t supposed to be at in the first place. “Thomas, they embarrassed me. The guy’s like, pushing me down the stairs, I’m in high heels, I mean, so aggressive.” She calls it “messed up” but then moments later nearly takes Thomas’s advice to “call 911.” Instead she walks off in a huff, and Patricia confirms, “That’s the best money I ever spent,” when it comes to the security detail.

Of course, Southern Charm manages to get one more savage dig in at the end, explaining that one month later Ashley moved back to California and “has a new BFF,” showing the Instagram photo of her posting with the show’s previous villain, Landon Clements.

But this moment was necessary: for Patricia, for Ashley, for us. After last season, we needed closure to this human tornado. We needed confirmation that this storm would receive the karma she deserved. Hell, we needed an exciting moment to look forward to. Her first appearance on the show this season was simply an opportunity for her to spew more nonsense and get the group riled up. The second was an apology to Kathryn that seemed sincere but was of course not quite worth the trouble. And finally the third was what we were all waiting for: a literal and figurative boot from society.

The chapter has closed on Ashley. She’s out of their state, out of their lives, and fingers crossed, off our screens for good. She came in, she shocked, and she was finally ushered out — and a bit overdue at that. It simply wasn’t fair the way she treated Kathryn, the way she used Eliza to get close to this group, and the way she refused to silently slink away. The message could not be delivered louder or clearer: you’re not welcome ’round these parts Ashley, so get to steppin’.

Southern Charm airs Wednesday at 9pm ET/PT on Bravo.
