After that Southern Charm Season 6 finale, it’s safe to say that things are pretty tense between Austen Kroll and Shep Rose. On Wednesday night, immediately after the episode aired, Austen stopped by Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen to debrief, and he wasn’t too kind to his one-time friend. When guest Whitney Cummings suggested that Shep hates Madison LeCroy, Austen’s girlfriend, because he’s actually in love with her, Austen agreed, saying, “If he doesn’t have it before you, then he is not a fan.” At this point, we’re expecting Southern Charm Season 7 to turn into an all-out brawl.
With Austen sitting in the WWHL hot seat last night, Cohen and Cummings had a golden opportunity to discuss all things Shep. “I have a theory that Shep is in love with Madison,” said Cummings. Austen didn’t even wait a beat before responding. “You aren’t the only one who has that theory,” he replied. “I’m not saying that it’s me that has that theory, but Shep is a very like — if he doesn’t have it before you, then he is not a fan.”
“He’s like territorial? If I can’t have her, no one can?” asked Cummings. “Oh, yeah,” replied Austen. “It’s like, ‘I wasn’t playing with that toy until you were playing with it, and now I want to play with it.”
“Ew. That’s hot,” joked Cummings. “Don’t say that!” said Austen, laughing.
On Bravo’s Southern Charm Season 6 finale, Shep surprises Austen with the two women he may or may not have had a threesome with months ago. Madison and Austen ultimately overcame the incident — some of which was captured on a video that played constantly throughout the season — but Shep, a longtime Madison hater, just can’t let it go. Naturally, he brings the two women from the video to Patricia Altschul’s party. When Austen realizes, he’s livid. “This is a total fucking ambush,” he tells Madison. And do you know what? He’s right.
Watch Austen speculate about Shep’s real feelings towards Madison in the clip above. The Southern Charm Season 6 finale is currently available to stream on Bravo.
