Halfway through the first season of Netflix’s Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Sabrina Spellman (Kiernan Shipka) made a choice: sign the Dark Lord’s book, and fully embrace her witch nature. So what happened between Part 1 and Part 2 of the series? Enter “Daughter of Chaos,” the second Chilling Adventures tie-in novel from writer Sarah Rees Brennan — and Decider has your first, exclusive look at the cover for the novel.
To be fair, we got a little glimpse of what happened after Part 1 with the December, 2018 debuting “Chapter Eleven: A Midwinter’s Tale.” But between Sabrina debuting her new white hair in “Chapter Ten: The Witching Hour” and Part 2 picking up in “Chapter Twelve: The Epiphany,” a lot of time passed. That’s where “Daughter of Chaos” comes in, exploring Sabrina’s growing power, her new life at the Academy of the Unseen Arts, and her new, friendly relationship with former rivals Prudence (Tati Gabrielle), Dorcas (Abigail Cowen) and Agatha (Adeline Rudolph). Oh yeah, there’s also Nick Scratch (Gavin Leatherwood) the charming warlock who only has eyes for Sabrina. What’s his deal?
But the star attraction is the character pictured on the cover in Sabrina’s arms, Salem the cat. Her familiar, Salem didn’t appear in the first Chilling Adventures novel by Brennan, “Season of the Witch,” since that took place in the month before the series began. But good news, everyone’s favorite kitty/monster will be showing up in “Daughter of Chaos.”

About the author:
Sarah Rees Brennan was born and raised in Ireland by the sea, where her teachers valiantly tried to make her fluent in Irish (she wants you to know it’s not called Gaelic) but she chose to read books under her desk in class instead. The books most often found under her desk were Jane Austen, Margaret Mahy, Anthony Trollope, Robin McKinley and Diana Wynne Jones, and she still loves them all today.
After college she lived briefly in New York and somehow survived in spite of her habit of hitching lifts in fire engines. She began working on The Demon’s Lexicon while doing a Creative Writing MA and library work in Surrey, England. Since then she has returned to Ireland to write and use as a home base for future adventures. Her Irish is still woeful, but she feels the books under the desk were worth it.
