X-Men: Dark Phoenix

The final installment of the 20th Century Fox’s X-Men franchise was X-Men: Dark Phoenix. During the action superhero film, the X-Men must face their most formidable and difficult foe: their very own Jean Grey (Sophie Turner). After an incident during a mission in space, Grey is given astronomically stronger —yet more unstable— powers, causing an internal struggle that results in her fatally injuring those closest to her and tearing apart the unity of the X-Men. The broken team must find a way to put their differences aside to save the girl they consider family before she destroys herself, or an alien force bent on universal domination exploits her powers for evil.

The Dead Don’t Die

We can never get too many Zombie comedy movies, or Zom-Coms as they are aptly called, and the latest addition to this great genre is The Dead Don’t Die, starring Adam Driver, Bill Murray, Danny Glover, Tilda Swinton and so many more stars! The horror-comedy takes place in the small town of Centerville that has just experienced a zombie invasion. Cops Ronnie (Driver) and Cliff (Murray) must stop the invasion with the help of some colorful locals before the infestation turns into a full-scale apocalypse. While The Dead Don’t Die is a classic zom-com movie, it also serves as a satirical piece about the genre, using fourth-wall breaks and dry humor to skewer the textbook storylines that have defined the industry.

Grease

“You’re the one that I want, you are the one I want, ooh ooh ooh, honey!” When the musical romantic comedy Grease hit theaters in 1978, nobody could have expected what an impact the movie would leave on the rest of the world. If you do not know the premise of the movie or the broadway show from which it was inspired— you must be living under a rock but that is beside the point— Grease is the story of Aussie beauty Sandy (Olivia Newton-John) and dark-haired, smoldering Danny (John Travolta) who meet and fall in love the summer before their senior year of high school. But when Sandy surprises Danny with the news that she is staying in California, Danny must keep up his too-cool-for-school bravado and shrugs the goody-two-shoes off, effectively breaking her heart. The musical movie is rife with crazy antics and car chases and you cannot help but fall in love with its iconic songs like “Greased Lightnin,” “Summer Nights” and “You’re the One That I Want.” So enjoy the fantastic, legendary film Grease, only 99 cents on iTunes today!
