Grab your notebook and brush up on your Wikipedia skills because The Masked Singer is coming back for Season 2. Last night (September 15) marked the premiere of The Masked Singer‘s sneak peek special into Season 2. And it did not disappoint.

The hourlong special offered fans their first introduction to all of this season’s new characters. Well, almost all of them. There’s one more mystery performer who won’t be revealed until Fox hosts the Emmys on September 22.

So who is the Leopard? Who is Thingamajig? What is an eagle’s body temperature? And who the heck is the Egg? Here’s everything we know so far about this season’s new performers. And as an added bonus we’ve included some of the internet’s best guesses about who these costumed stars may be.

Who is the Skeleton?

According to Nick Cannon, the Skeleton was one of the most expensive costumes in Masked Singer history. Not only that but the celebrity behind it requested a specialty bone microphone. This is a person who appreciates the finer things in life and matching aesthetics.

For their clues, the Skeleton mentioned “I feel like I’ve died and gone to heaven being here” and referenced having a “skeleton crew.” They were also seen standing in front of a tombstone that read 4261.

Many fans on the internet read that as a birthday, aka April 2, 1961, and guessed Christopher Meloni. But there’s one guess that’s even more interesting and outlandish — Stephen King. Not only has King written a book titled Skeleton Crew, but according to one fan he’s had 42 movie adaptations and 61 novels.

Who is the Fox?

The Fox, also called Mr. Fox, took the longest to make. Just the tail alone took 80 hours. But it’s this canine’s clues that are the most mysterious. Not only is the Fox rocking a serious steampunk theme complete with a robotic eye and a top hat, but during the preview they teased “This superhero is ready to take on the competition.” They were also filmed next to a sign that said Studio 46.

That superhero detail caused a lot of people to guess the Fox is none other than Ray Fisher from Justice League fame. Jeremy Renner and Bradley Cooper’s names were also thrown around. That superhero clue was important, but it may be worthwhile to look into the supers of our past.

Who is the Ice Cream?

Building the Ice Cream was the most difficult challenge of this new season, partially because this costume has the heaviest head. During the clue segment this character teased “America, I can’t tell you who I am except that I’m made of sugar and dairy and I live for half of February” while standing in front of a calendar that had Valentine’s Day circled.

Was this celebrity born on February 14? Are they known for spreading romance or starring in rom coms? It’s too early to tell for this one.

Who is the Eagle?

It took over 1,000 feathers to make the Eagle. Also the celebrity behind it specifically requested its rock ‘n roll wardrobe, complete with red bandana and sun medallion. You better believe that’s important. But the Eagle’s biggest clue is the most mysterious.

“If you know an eagle’s body temperature, you may be on my tail,” this character said. If you’re wondering an eagle’s body temperature is 106 degrees fahrenheit and 41 degrees celsius.

Fans are guessing older rockers for this one. Bret Michaels from Poison and Bruce Springsteen’s named have popped up. But would it be too on the nose to guess one of the living members of The Eagles?

Who is the Tree?

The costume department used hola hoops to create the Tree’s costume. They were also inspired by ’50s pinup queens when it came to this costume’s design. We know this person is bright and cheery. In addition to their costume, they showed off at least six masked family members and friends. This Tree rolls deep. But the big clue was their description of their “delicious” performances.

People are thinking celebrity chef for this one. Rachael Ray’s name has been thrown out.

Who is the Flamingo?

It took 120 hours to construct this costume and it seems worth it. During their clue they said “I love this mask as much as I love mascara,” hinting that they may have their own makeup line. Also this was only one of two characters we got to see perform. The Flamingo belted out “Lady Marmalade” and nailed those ambitious vocals.

Hopeful fans are guessing Kylie Jenner and Katy Perry for this one, though both seem unlikely. On the more likely front former 3LW and Cheetah Girls member Adrienne Bailon has also been guessed.

Who is the Butterfly?

The Butterfly’s costume is the most detailed this year, containing over 10,000 sequins. But other than a love for all things shimmery, this bug also has a spiritual connection. “I bump into everything. I just pray I don’t fall over,” the Butterfly said.

The prevailing theory right now is Michelle Williams of Destiny’s Child. And honestly she’s a good guess. Williams has seen success in gospel and even dabbled with being a pastor in 2018.

Who is the Penguin?

Out of all the costumes the Penguin’s head is the most difficult to see from. But that won’t stop them from accessorizing. During their clue package, the Penguin donned four different wigs: a multi-colored mohawk, a green pompadour, a white blunt bob, and an ombre, purple-to-blue medium length do. This is a bird who loves to dress up.

Because of this, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, and Sia all come to mind. But it’s probably safer to set our bar a little lower. Raven-Symoné is a possibility for this one.

Who is the Leopard?

This royal feline is our wild card this season. The Leopard’s costume took 30 days to make, and according to host Nick Cannon, “The Elizabethan style contoured waist was specifically chosen to conceal the silhouette of the mystery celebrity inside.” Don’t trust their silhouette or their fake British accent.

We know one more thing about this feline; they’ve been spotted with the president. Omarosa and Sharon Osborne’s names came up, dating back to Trump’s time on The Celebrity Apprentice. But it’s too early to trust anything, including possibly gender, about this cat.

Who is the Egg?

We already know that the Egg specifically requested their costume. That request took over 20,000 beads and stones to complete. But this breakfast food’s clues are the toughest to crack.

At one point the Egg said, “I belong on this stage more than I belong with bacon.” Is that a reference to Kevin Bacon, or are we reaching? They then added, “As my mom always told me, life has an expiration date. So always work hard for the first and last vowels of the alphabet.” Depending on if you consider “y” a vowel (sometimes), they could either be referring to “a” and “u” or “a” and “y.”

Amy Schumer has been thrown out because of that lettering clue as has Vanna White. Those Wheel of Fortune creds go far. But it’s far too early to be an eggs-pert on this one.

Who is the Rottweiler?

Whoever is behind the Rottweiler worked extra hard with the costume team to ensure that this dog had a hip hop look. According to this pooch, “My bark is just as big as my bite” and “I’m a total perfectionist.”

No one really knows what to make of this one since there were so few actual clues. Guesses have ranged from Bruno Mars to Donnie Wahlberg to our personal favorite, Bow Wow.

Who is the Flower?

The Flower is the only character in the history of the show to have human-like features. That’s not the only new ground they’re pushing. “I blossom in every field I put myself in, and I’m here to branch out yet again,” the Flower teased while dancing in a graffitied alleyway. Also at one point the Flower was framed against a backdrop of other flowers that wrote out “314.” Is that a reference to the St. Louis area code?

Mayim Bialik, who is known for starring in the series Blossom, The Big Bang Theory and for being an author and neuroscientist, is the most popular guess so far. But Jenna Fisher, a St. Louis native, has been getting some traction.

Who is Thingamajig?

The first thing you need to know about Thingamajig is that they’re tall. The costume comes in at seven feet and requires multiple cans of hairspray to keep its fur fresh. This is the second performer we’ve heard, as Thingamajig sang Kacey Musgraves’ “Rainbow” in a distinctly masculine voice.

“I’m literally unlike anything you’ve ever seen or heard before. Don’t call me Chewbacca, though we do celebrate together,” Thingamajig said.

That Star Wars reference have caused some to guess the celebrity behind this weird costume is Ahmed Best, who originally played Jar Jar Binks. Wayne Brady was also a guess as was Will Arnett. Arnett’s birthday is on May 4, aka May the Fourth be with you.

Who is the Panda?

No character has a head as big as Panda’s. The costume team worked to make it as big as possible. Besides loving new challenges and pushing themselves “to the limit,” Panda didn’t reveal much about themselves. But they did say “victory will taste sweet, like bamboo. Especially the way I prepare it,” hinting that we may have two celebrity chefs in our midst.

Rachael Ray’s name was mentioned again, as was Martha Stewart’s. But there’s one crazy and famous chef who’s been mentioned that seems so odd it’s perfect: Guy Fieri.

Who is the Black Widow?

This performer’s costume is just as dangerous as the spider they embody. Each of the Black Widow’s eight legs took 100 feet of foam to construct. Like the Panda, the Black Widow went light on the clues this first round, just showing us a mysterious tarot card.

Scarlett Johansson’s name was floated for obvious reasons, but we know it’s not going to be her. For now this arachnid is a mystery.

Who is the mystery costume?

There’s one more performer we have yet to see. At the moment we’re guessing it’s the Ladybug, but we won’t be sure if we’re right until Emmy night, Sunday, September 22 on Fox.

But for now let’s focus on this mysterious character’s placement. Fox wouldn’t be holding back a character unless the network knew this was someone who would become a fan favorite. Whoever is behind this mask is likely going to stay in the competition for a while.

Season 2 of The Masked Singer premieres on Fox Wednesday, September 25 at 8/7c.
