Vince Vaughn Set To Star In Hulu Teen Drug Comedy ‘The Binge’

Hulu has nabbed exclusive rights to The Binge, a teen comedy which will take the form of a drug-fueled spoof on The Purge, starring Vince Vaughn. Also attached to star are Skyler Gisondo (Santa Clarita Diet), Eduardo Franco (American Vandal), and Dexter Darden (The Maze Runner).

The film, which is based on a script by Jordan VanDina, will be produced by his American High banner. The storyline is set in a time where all drugs and alcohol are illegal but with one day per year where everyone can partake known as “Binge day.”

According to Deadline, Jeremy Garelick has been attached to direct. The plot follows three friends, Griffin (Gisondo), Hags (Darden) and Andrew (Franco), who have all just turned 18 making them finally eligible to join in on the festivities of the Big Binge Party.

Garelick, who has previously worked with Vaughn on his co-starring role with Jennifer Aniston in The Break-Up, is producing the project with EPs Mickey Liddell and Pete Shilaimon as well as Will Phelps, Ryan Bennett, and Michael Schade. Additional cast members include Grace Van Dien and Zainne Saleh.

While Vaughan’s particular role in the film is being kept under wraps for now, we couldn’t think of a better actor to round out this cast considering his history in such films as Wedding Crashers. The actor is repped by WME and we should have more details in the coming months.
