‘The View’s Joy Behar Repeatedly Rails Against Trump: “Just Put Him in a Home”

The View‘s Joy Behar was in rare form this morning. On Thursday, the women of The View discussed President Trump’s Wednesday press conference, which quickly went off the rails as the president yelled at reporters and attempted to dodge questions. Behar wasted no time before slamming Trump’s performance, saying, “Instead of impeaching him, just put him in a home.” The longtime co-host later repeated the statement during an interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, who laughed it off. “The poor president of Finland,” Maddow said of the bizarre press conference.

This morning, The View discussed the latest updates in the impeachment inquiry. Meghan McCain described the entire situation as a “culture war,” saying that Republicans and people in the middle of the country believe that if Trump is impeached, “they’re going to have the most left, progressive squad member” as president. “People are getting more tribal than I’ve ever seen,” she said. McCain then asked if we can “apologize to the president of Finland,” shifting the discussion towards Trump’s bizarre Wednesday afternoon behavior. “He’s coming undone,” said Sunny Hostin.
“I don’t know about you, but I’m sick of looking at Nickelback videos and trying to interpret what that means for America,” said McCain, referencing a video posted by Trump on Twitter (the band quickly had it removed). “I think Nickelback’s confused too,” said Abby Huntsman.
“Instead of impeaching him, just put him in a home,” added Behar, much to the audience’s pleasure. “He’s unraveling before our eyes.”
Behar later repeated the comment during an interview with Maddow, who was there to promote her new book, Blowout: Corrupted Democracy, Rogue State Russia, and the Richest, Most Destructive Industry on Earth. After explaining Maddow’s foot injury, moderator Whoopi Goldberg shifted the conversation towards Hot Topics. “That press conference yesterday. Joy has lost her mind,” she joked. “Put him in a home!” said Behar yet again.
“The poor president of Finland,” replied Maddow with a laugh. “What do we give to them as a country?” She offered some half-hearted suggestions before getting serious. “Our world standing is a subjective thing, but in those moments, to have the entire country cringing for our president — it isn’t good,” said the MSNBC host.
