Genndry Tartakovsky is back with a new series on Adult Swim. Told over five nights, Primal is a beautiful and heartbreaking look at survival and sacrifice. But how can you watch Primal on Adult Swim?
The animator, director, and artist is best known for creating series such as Dexter’s Laboratory, Samurai Jack, and Star Wars: Clone Wars. He’s also the director of the Hotel Transylvania movie trilogy. But Primal is more in line with Tartakovsky’s more mature and award-winning work on Samurai Jack than his children-focused projects.
The five-part Primal tells the story of an unnamed caveman and his dinosaur companion. Tragedy unites them as they attempt to survive the brutal world. Completely devoid of dialogue and gorgeously scored and animated, Primal is a deeply emotional examination of the universal truths that bind us all. Here’s how you can watch this must-see animated event.
When Does Primal Premiere?
The new series has a fairly unique premiere schedule for Adult Swim. The network will air a new episode every night from Monday, October 7 to Friday, October 11.

How to Watch Primal on Adult Swim
If you want to watch this epic saga live you’re going to need either access to cable or live television. Cable subscribers are already set. Either turn your TV to Cartoon Network before midnight or enter your log in information and you’re good to go.
You also have options if you have a live TV skinny bundle like Hulu + Live TV, Sling TV, or YouTube TV. All of these streaming services come with access to Cartoon Network, so as long as you have one you’re covered. But even if none of these viewing options apply to you, there’s still one ace left: Adult Swim’s website. Typically Adult Swim streams new episodes of its originals on its website. For a special five-night even like this there’s a good chance they’ll continue that trend.
