Think you’ve had a bad nightmare? Let us put things in perspective for you. In this exclusive clip from tonight’s new episode of Fox’s Prodigal Son — everyone’s favorite new serial killer family crime drama — Malcolm Bright’s (Tom Payne) night terrors reveal new memories from his past. As Malcolm grows increasingly distressed, even his mouth guard and the shackles can’t contain him. His mother, Jessica Whitly (Bellamy Young), can only watch in horror from the street as he crashes out the window. As usual, she remains unflappable.
Bellamy Young spoke to us about the intense sequence. “At first, I thought ‘well, obviously that’s going to need a rewrite.’ But they did it!” According to Young, the impressive scene was filmed in three different places: “We shot my part on the streets of SoHo. We shot Tom’s part in the studio where we shoot our show. And then, we found a third location and built a completely fake mock-up of the building in SoHo that we use for Malcolm Bright’s loft. That’s where we did all the stunt work.”
And did Tom Payne do the entire stunt himself? Young reported, “I don’t think they let him do the initial hurl out the window, but they let them do everything else, and he loved it.”
