‘Bachelor’ Peter Weber Suffers “Freak” Facial Injury Requiring 22 Stitches While Filming New Season

New Bachelor Peter Weber has suffered a “serious” facial injury while on location for the 24th season of ABC’s The Bachelor in Costa Rica. RadarOnline broke the news that the popular pilot “split his head open” while playing golf and was rushed to a hospital on Monday, October 7.

Since this season’s female contestants — Peter’s potential soul mates — were all scheduled to fly in to Costa Rica for filming yesterday, there were concerns that this injury could derail production. However Bachelor host Chris Harrison has already issued a statement trying to assuage concerns: “Peter suffered a freak accident. He got a cut on his head, he did get stitches but he’s 100 percent OK and production is already back underway. He’s still the dashing, handsome pilot we’ve all dreamed of.”

RadarOnline’s source says the injury occurred when Weber “went to step on the [golf] cart but fell and and split his face open on two cocktail glasses he was carrying.” Apparently, Weber required 22 stitches on his face and traveled two hours to a hospital to undergo surgery with a specialist. There’s no word yet on how The Bachelor will address the injury next season.

Peter Weber is a 28-year-old pilot from Cleveland, Ohio. He came in third place in the last season of The Bachelorette and famously had sex with Bachelorette Hannah Brown four times in a windmill. Initially, Hannah said it only happened twice, but eventually she and Peter came clean on national television.

Peter Weber’s all-new season of The Bachelor is expected to premiere on ABC in January 2020.
