How to Watch Lifetime’s ‘The College Admissions Scandal’ Movie

Seven months after news of the college admissions scandal first broke, Lifetime is here with a ripped-from-the-headlines feature film. Tonight, Lifetime’s The College Admissions Scandal movie makes its long-awaited debut, and while it may not provide any new details about the case, it’s sure to keep you entertained.

Directed by Adam Salky, The College Admissions Scandal lays out the scheme that implicated over 50 wealthy parents who tried to game the admissions process. The Lifetime movie centers on two rich women, Caroline and Bethany, who go to extreme (and illegal) lengths to get their children into the best possible colleges. While Felicity Huffman — who was recently sentenced to 14 days in prison for her involvement in the scheme — and Lori Loughlin (still awaiting trial) do not appear in the film, Caroline and Bethany are clearly meant to stand-in for the famous women, as well as the other parents who hired consultant Rick Singer to get their children admitted to elite universities.

ARE FELICITY HUFFMAN AND LORI LOUGHLIN IN THE COLLEGE ADMISSIONS SCANDAL LIFETIME MOVIE?

Unfortunately, Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman do not appear in College Admissions Scandal. Rather than depict Loughlin and Huffman’s role in the scandal, Lifetime’s film follows two nondescript wealthy mothers, Caroline (Penelope Ann Miller) and Bethany (Mia Kirshner), who go to extreme lengths to get their children into college. While other parts of the scandal are depicted — including Operation Varsity Blues, William Rick Singer’s role as organizer, and other wealthy parents charged — the movie largely stays away from Loughlin and Huffman’s story.

WHO IS IN THE COLLEGE ADMISSIONS SCANDAL CAST?

Lifetime’s College Admissions Scandal movie centers on two wealthy mothers who become obsessed with getting their children into the best possible college. Riverdale and American Crime alum Penelope Ann Miller plays Caroline, a well-known interior designer, while Star Trek: Discovery and The L Word‘s Mia Kirshner stars as Bethany, owner of a successful finance firm.

Michael Shanks (Stargate: Atlantis) plays real-world “college admissions consultant” Rick Singer, the mastermind of the scheme. As part of Operation Varsity Blues, Singer cooperated with the FBI and helped gather incriminating evidence about his co-conspirators, including Lori Loughlin and Felicity Huffman. He later pleaded guilty to four charges of racketeering conspiracy, money laundering, tax conspiracy, and obstruction of justice and faces up to 65 years in prison, with a fine of $1.25 million.

Additional The College Admissions Scandal cast members include Sam Duke, Vanessa Przada, Jade Falcon, and Ash Lee.
