It didn’t seem possible, and yet American Horror Story: 1984 did it: five episodes in and FX’s horror anthology series came out with a twist so shocking it made us question just how many episodes are left in AHS: 1984. But don’t worry, there’s still more fright in store.
Created by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, American Horror Story Season 9 takes things back to a simpler, more murderous time. Set in a doomed camp, this entire season is one big and bloody homage to classic slasher movies from the ’80s and ’90s. It’s a ton of fun, and you better believe there are leggings, knives, and aerobics classes for days. Here’s what we know about AHS: 1984‘s episode count.
How Many Episodes of American Horror Story: 1984 Are There? How Many Episodes Are in AHS: 1984?
FX has told Decider that AHS: 1984 will actually be nine episodes long, making it the shortest season of the show so far. This is contrary to the report EW gave earlier this year saying that American Horror Story Season 9 would be 10 episodes long.
When it first premiered, AHS had a 12-episode season. That was increased to 13 episodes for Asylum, Coven, and Freak Show. But more recent seasons, like Roanoke and Apocalypse, only had 10 episodes. The exception is 2017’s Cult, which had 11 episodes. At the moment we only know the titles of the first eight episodes of 1984. “Episode 100,” “The Lady in White,” and “Rest in Pieces” are scheduled to release later this year.

Will There Be an American Horror Story Season 10? Is AHS Season 10 Happening?
No need to fret. There is more American Horror Story coming your way. In 2018 FX renewed the anthology series through Season 10. We don’t know who’s coming back, what the theme is, or when it will premiere, but we do know that there are more screams in our future.
