The show was inspired by the true story of Spain’s first ever anti-narcotics squad, which helped crack down on drug trafficking starting in 1977. The series is a period piece set in the 1970s, during a massive political upheaval that shook up the country like never before. The show is set in the municipality of Torremolinos, which is in Andalusia, Spain. The show actually filmed near where it’s set (see below). The show is based on a true story, although it’s likely that names and details have been changed.
