Have you heard the good TV news? Oprah Winfrey is returning to television, and it’s all thanks to Apple. This week marks the long-awaited launch of Apple’s new TV streaming service, Apple TV+. And right away it’s pulling out the big guns.

Oprah’s Book Club is launching with eight other original series and movies from the tech company. Jennifer Aniston and Reese Witherspoon’s The Morning Show, Jason Momoa’s See, and Joel Kinnamen’s For All Mankind will be launching Apple’s slate of drama shows. Hailee Steinfeld and Jane Krakowski’s Dickinson will be launching its roster of comedies. And Snoopy in Space, Helpsters, Ghost Writer, and the documentary The Elephant Queen will be rounding out the streaming service’s entertainment for all ages.

So what do you need to know about Oprah Winfrey’s return to television? Here’s your full guide to Oprah’s Book Club.

What Is Oprah’s Show on Apple TV Plus?

Oprah’s infamous book club has officially gotten its very own show. Each episode of the talk show giant’s new show for Apple will feature another interview with a different author. The goal for each episode is, according to Apple, to “build a vibrant global book club” and better unite readers.

So who will Oprah be interviewing first? That would be Ta-Nehisi Coates. Coates has written a memoir, The Beautiful Struggle, an award-winning nonfiction book about the racist violence woven into American culture, Between the World and Me, and a collection of essays about the Obama administration, We Were Eight Years in Power. But certain fans will know the author better for his work writing Black Panther and Captain America comics.

Coates will be on Oprah’s Book Club to promote his first novel, The Water Dancer. The story is set in a world in the grips of slavery and follows a superhuman man who can transport people over great distances. The Water Dancer is out now. But if you buy The Water Dancer through Apple Books the company will make a contribution to the American Library Association.

When Will Oprah’s Book Club Premiere?

The first episode of Oprah’s Book Club is set to premiere on Apple TV+’s launch date. That means on Friday, November 1 you can be reunited with Oprah Winfrey.

When Will New Episodes of Oprah’s Book Club Be Released?

This is where things get confusing. According to Apple, new episodes of Oprah’s Book Club will premiere every two months. It’s currently unknown if there will be a set bi-monthly date. Oprah’s past and upcoming book club selections will be available through the Apple Books app. Just search for “Oprah’s Book Club.”

Will Oprah’s Book Club Be on Netflix?

Sorry, you’re out of luck on this one. Oprah’s new show won’t be on Netflix.

Will Oprah’s Book Club Be on Hulu? Will Oprah’s Book Club Be on Amazon Prime Video?

Negative. If you want to hear Oprah talk about your new favorite books you’re going to need a subscription to Apple TV+. For $4.99 a month you can watch all of Apple’s new originals. The streaming service even offers a seven-day free trial.
