When Will ‘The Dragon Prince’ Season 4 Premiere?

Netflix just got a little bit more magical with the premiere of The Dragon Prince Season 3. But what’s going on with this show’s future?

From Avatar: The Last Airbender head writer Aaron Ehasz and Justin Richmond comes this story about a universe brought together by a single egg. Set in a magical world where humans have been battling magical creatures for centuries, it was long believed that the humans had killed the Dragon King as well as the egg containing his heir. But when Callum, Ezran, and Rayla find the missing dragon egg they may be able to repair the relationships between their races and save the world. Are they up to the task? Is The Dragon Prince Season 4 Happening? Will There Be a Season 4 of The Dragon Prince?

At the moment Netflix has yet to announce plans for a Season 4 of The Dragon Prince. That’s not too surprising seeing as how Season 3 just premiere on Friday, November 22. But according to some insiders in The Dragon Prince‘s production company Wonderstorm, the show’s future may be a bit precarious.

As Inverse covered, earlier this year Danika Harrod left her position as Head of Community Development for Wonderstorm. In a series of tweets after quitting she accused the studio of misogynistic behavior and called out series co-creator Aaron Ehasz in particular. That same Twitter thread hinted that those allegations may affect when or if we may be seeing more of The Dragon Prince.

When Would The Dragon Prince Season 4 Premiere?

Assuming that there is a fourth season and that the Netflix original will proceed as usual, we can likely expect to see new episodes in Spring of 2019. The first season of the show premiered in fall of 2018. Ever since new seasons have been released roughly once every six months.

What Could Happen in The Dragon Prince Season 4?

We don’t know at the moment, but we know the team behind this show has big plans in store. At San Diego Comic-Con it was revealed that the first three chapters (or seasons) of The Dragon Prince would revolve around Moon, Sky, and Sun. The plan is for that to be followed by Seasons 4 and 5 and then at least two additional seasons. At the moment we only know that Season 4 will be titled The Dragon Prince: [Name Withheld]: Earth. That’s a lot of mystery. But what else can you expect from this magic-loving series?
