It’s a sad day for fans of classic sitcoms everywhere. This past Sunday (December 1) Will & Grace star and one of the funniest characters on this iconic comedy Shelley Morrison passed away. The actor was 83. Following the announcement of her death the late Morrison’s co-stars have taken to social media to pay tribute to this great actor.

When Morrison was first cast on Will & Grace she was only supposed to play Karen’s (Megan Mullally) sassy maid for one episode. Morrison’s Rosario and her undeniable chemistry with Mullally became so popular that she was written back onto the show. Altogether Morrison starred in 68 episodes of Will & Grace, each one proving that she could dish insults and quips as hard as she could take them. During her run as a member of Will & Grace’s cast, the series won a Screen Actors Guild Award for best ensemble comedy.

Debra Messing, best known for starring as the neurotic Grace, took to both Instagram and Twitter to praise Morrison for her “kind soul and huge heart” as well as to send her love to the late actor’s husband and family:

Eric McCormack, who played the Type-A Will, praised Morrison for her work as an actor. The actor wrote that Morrison’s portrayal of Rosario was “as nuanced and real as it was hysterical”:

Sean Hayes, who played the over-the-top Jack, also praised how skilled Morrison was as a comedic actor:

But unsurprisingly the most heart-wrenching tribute came from Morrison’s partner-in-crime, Megan Mullally. Throughout Will & Grace‘s run Rosario Salazar stood as the unpredictable Karen’s maid, foe, friend, and at times often her only confidant. Mullally thanked her late co-star for her friendship and partnership.

Truly no one other than Morrison’s Rosario could ever stand up to Karen. She will be missed.
