Watchmen blew our collective minds last week by revealing that Cal Abar (Yahya Abdul-Mateen II) has been Doctor Manhattan this whole time. Everything Angela Abar (Regina King) has done so far — every lie she’s told and every battle she’s fought — has been to protect this one secret. Now, according to Lady Trieu (Hong Chau), the Seventh Kalvary have a plan to kidnap Doctor Manhattan and wield his powers for evil.
Tonight’s Watchmen, Episode 8, “A God Walks into Abar” will help explain the nitty gritty of Doctor Manhattan’s transformation into Cal Abar as well as illustrate the love story between him and Angela. That’s right. Taking a cue from Marvel, tonight’s episode features an all-important post-credits scene. You’re going to want to stay glued to the television set until the whole thing is over. Wait until the end credits and then watch what happens and then you can form your fan theories for what’s going to happen next.
After tonight’s episode of Watchmen, there’s only one more episode left in the season. (Yup, Watchmen Season 1 has only 9 episodes, not 10.) So what happens in that stinger will probably be super important for what happens next week.
