'Virgin River' Showrunner Says "There's Always Hope" For Brie And Brady
Cord-cutters can’t seem to get enough of the new Netflix romantic drama Virgin River.
Based on Robyn Carr’s 20-book literary series of the same name, the series centers on Melinda Monroe (Alexandra Breckenridge), a nurse practitioner who’s looking for a fresh start. Monroe moves from Los Angeles to the small California town of Virgin River and is surprised by what — and who — she finds.
Decider’s Joel Keller gave the series a “stream it” recommendation, writing that “if you sometimes tune into feel-good Hallmark shows to just switch off and feel cozy for a little while, Virgin River will help you do that.”

The first season of Virgin River consists of ten episodes.
WHO’S IN THE CAST OF VIRGIN RIVER ON NETFLIX?
Along with the aforementioned Alexandra Breckenridge, the series also stars Martin Henderson (Jack Sheridan), Annette O’Toole (Hope McCrea), Tim Matheson (Doc Mullins), Lauren Hammersley (Charmaine Roberts), Jenny Cooper (Joey Barnes), and Colin Lawrence (John ‘Preacher’ Middleton).
WILL THERE BE A VIRGIN RIVER SEASON 2?
Yes! Back in September, Inside Vancouver revealed that Virgin River already began production on Season 2. On December 20, Netflix officially announced a Season 2 renewal on Twitter.
WHEN WILL VIRGIN RIVER SEASON 2 ARRIVE ON NETFLIX?
*** Update (10/21/20): Virgin River Season 2 premieres November 27, 2020 on Netflix! ***
Inside Vancouver also noted that Season 2 is scheduled to wrap on December 17, 2019. Filming for Season 1 concluded on March 26, 2019, and the series premiered on December 6, 2019. Following the same time table, Season 2 of Virgin River would premiere in September of 2020, but it’s possible Netflix held the series in an effort to debut the show during the holiday season.
Our best guess? Look for Virgin River Season 2 to premiere on Netflix in late summer/early fall of 2020.
