There’s a medley of intriguing new shows heading to Netflix in January of 2020. Not only is the streamer offering a new reality series (The Circle), but the Childrens Hospital team is back with a brand new comedy (Medical Doctor), and January Jones, Kaya Scodelario, and Willow Shields star in the figure-skating drama Spinning Out. The year begins, however, with Michael Petroni’s high-profile thriller Messiah.
Starring Mehdi Dehbi, Michelle Monaghan, and Jane Adams, the series centers on a CIA officer (Monaghan) investigating an enigmatic man (Dehbi) who gains a cult following after performing a slew of mysterious acts. Is he a fraud or is he the second coming of Christ? Honestly, I have no idea. I haven’t watched the show yet.

WHO’S IN THE CAST OF MESSIAH ON NETFLIX?
Messiah stars Mehdi Dehbi, Michelle Monaghan, Jane Adams, Tomer Sisley, and John Ortiz.
Dehbi, who portrays Al-Masih, is best known for his roles in The Other Son, Mary Queen of Scots, A Most Wanted Man, and as Abdul on the FX series Tyrant. Monaghan has starred in a variety of popular films — including Gone Baby Gone, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, and various Mission Impossible movies — and played Maggie Hart on True Detective and Sarah Lane on Hulu’s The Path.
The series also stars Melinda Page Hamilton, Stefania LaVie Owen, Sayyid El Alami, Fares Landoulsi, Dermot Mulroney, Beau Bridges, and Wil Traval. Philip Baker Hall and Emily Kinney (The Walking Dead) also appear in recurring roles.
