The final episode of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series is almost here. And if this latest clip from the finale is any indication it’s been well worth the wait. We’ve held our breath during the auditions, gasped during Gina’s complicated choreography, and swooned during the tech rehearsals. Now the moment we’ve all been waiting for is finally here: High School Musical: The Musical: The Series Episode 10 is going to feature all of your East High School favorites singing “We’re All in This Together.”
The entirety of the High School Musical series’ has been building up to opening night, which started in Episode 9. But true to this dramatic show’s constantly changing form, there was a last minute switch-up. This season has seen Ricky (Joshua Bassett) fight for the role of Troy Bolton in the hopes of winning over his ex-girlfriend Nini (Olivia Rodrigo). Despite all of his hard work and reconnecting with Nini, Ricky ends Episode 9 by handing the role over to E.J. (Matt Cornett) after getting distracted by his mom’s new boyfriend.

Based on this bonkers’ show’s history, we know its final episode is going to be a crazy, meta delight. But let’s focus on what matters. During the production’s encore, both Ricky AND E.J. take the stage to soak in the applause for their shared performance of basketball star-turned-singer Troy Bolton. And they do it to the one song that’s a catchy pinnacle of this sweet, intentionally corny franchise, “We’re All in This Together.” If you thought hearing that musical number at the end of the first High School Musical was a lot, wait until you hear it after experiencing Troy and Gabriella’s journey over three movies and a musical series starring two leads with a ton of chemistry and baggage of their own.
