Will There Be a ‘Spinning Out’ Season 2?

Spinning Out Season 1 ends on a rather thrilling cliffhanger.

SPOILERS FOR SPINNING OUT SEASON 1 TO FOLLOW

At the end of Netflix’s Spinning Out‘s first season, it was revealed that while Coach Mitch (Will Kemp) was never sexually involved with his underage student Serena Baker (Willow Shields), someone else was. Lurking in the background, Dr. Ethan Parker (Charlie Hewson) had been secretly seducing Serena, all while dumping her to date Jenn (Amanda Zhou). When Kat Baker (Kaya Scodelario) and her mother Carol (January Jones) discover this, they both have dramatic reactions. Kat verbally confronts Dr. Parker about this, thereby causing a rift between her and Jenn, while Carol publicly assaults Parker with a baseball bat strike to the head.

However, that’s not the only reason why Spinning Out left us wanting more. The first season cuts to black exactly as Kat starts her final routine with partner Justin (Evan Roderick). Will they beat their rivals and skate on to future Olympic glory? Or will they fall on their butts?

WILL THERE BE A SPINNING OUT SEASON 2? WHEN WILL SPINNING OUT SEASON 2 PREMIERE ON NETFLIX?

Right now, we don’t know for sure if Netflix will renew Spinning Out for a second season. The streaming service typically tries to wait a few weeks to see how viewership numbers are looking before deciding to move forward with a new series. So we likely won’t learn about Spinning Out‘s fate until the end of January at the very earliest.

It’s worth noting that principal photography for Spinning Out took place in Toronto from late January to mid May 2019. Should Netflix renew the show, it would probably keep close to that schedule considering the drama is set in the winter months at a ski resort (and would require a cold weather shoot). That also means that Season 2 of Spinning Out would likely premiere either durning the holidays in 2020 or very early in 2021.
