Pat Sajak’s Daughter Will Turn the Letters on ‘Wheel of Fortune’ All Week

Wheel of Fortune is becoming a family affair. On Monday, Pat Sajak‘s daughter Maggie Sajak stepped into Vanna White’s shoes and turned the letters on the iconic game show board. Sajak appeared in a pre-taped video to introduce his 25-year-old daughter, who promised viewers at home that the longtime host is “so excited to be back next week.” No worries there, Wheel of Fortune fans!

On Monday, Wheel of Fortune posted a YouTube video with a special announcement. From a spot on a couch, Sajak revealed that he’s going to be absent from the show this week. “It’s not that I’ve had a relapse, it’s just because of the technicalities of the taping order,” he assured fans. “You’re going to see Vanna doing her Pat impression here. She does a great job. And we have a special letter toucher, so pay attention.”

White, who filled in for Sajak as he recovered from emergency surgery for a blocked intestine, then introduced the episode’s special guest, Maggie Sajak. “First of all, how’s Pat?” asked White, after the new letter toucher made it to center stage. “He’s doing well,” replied Maggie. “From the perspective of his daughter, it was a scary experience, I’m not gonna lie. But he’s doing great. And I know he’s so excited to be back next week.”

Later in the show, Maggie took some time to reflect on her Wheel of Fortune debut as a one-year-old baby. In 1996, Maggie joined Sajak on the set and offered some advice for the contestants (but it was in baby talk, so it probably wasn’t super helpful). “You have not changed at all,” said White. “I’m walking a little better now. And hopefully I’m a little more eloquent than last time,” joked Maggie.

Maggie Sajak will appear as Wheel of Fortune‘s letter toucher all week. To find the exact time and channel in your area, head to the show’s website.
