This horror story isn’t ending anytime soon. At the Television Critics Association’s 2020 winter tour FX announced that it has renewed its beloved and award-winning anthology series American Horror Story for three more seasons. That means in addition to Season 10, which is scheduled to premiere sometime later this year, we can expect Seasons 11, 12, and 13.

“Ryan [Murphy] and Brad [Falchuk] are the undisputed masters of horror TV, having created the anthological limited series with American Horror Story and sustaining its success for nearly a decade as FX’s highest-rated series,” said President of FX John Landgraf. “We are grateful to them and Dana Walden and our studio partners for committing to another three years. AHS has showcased a wealth of award winning actors since day one and we appreciate the contributions of everyone, including Ryan, Brad and fellow executive producers Tim Minear, James Wong, Alexis Martin Woodall and Bradley Buecker, the writers, directors, cast and crew for each new, unforgettable installment of American Horror Story.”

True to the series’ form, the theme of Seasons 10 through 13 still remains a mystery. But just the fact that they’re happening is exciting news. After Ryan Murphy and Netflix announced their partnership, fans worried about the future of one of the longest running anthology series. Though Murphy’s deal with Netflix stipulates that the super producer will continue to make new seasons of currently running FX and Fox shows, some worried that in the midst of this change-up and Disney’a acquisition of Fox, AHS was unofficially on its way out. Adding fuel to those worrying flames was the fact that Season 9 didn’t feature cast regulars Sarah Paulson and Evan Peters.

Thankfully all of that fretting was for nothing. American Horror Story: 1984 emerged as one of the strongest seasons the series has aired in years while also acting as a showcase for emerging talent like Cody Fern and Angelica Ross. The short version? American Horror Story is doing just fine and will continue to haunt your nightmares for years to come.
